    STR is hiring a Signal Processing and Systems Modeling Engineer to be part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers and engineers dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies with significant and immediate impact on our national security

    We are looking for an Engineer with versatile skills in signal processing, cyber-physical systems modeling, and statistical data analysis, to aid in the development of novel cyber threat mitigation technologies

    The development of these models and technologies is benefited by sound understanding and hands-on experience with implementing signal processing techniques (signal analysis/filtering), physical and statistical modeling, propagation modeling, and/or digital communications systems modeling
    Since our software technologies that are focused on cyber operations, an understanding of cyber vulnerabilities and their effects on software systems is valuable
    We expect the tools and techniques we develop and deliver to meet standards of quality, maintainability, and reuse
    Therefore, experience with sound software engineering principles and software unit test methodologies is valuable

    What you will do:

    • Developing signal processing, electromagnetic and communications models for cyber physical systems
    • Developing algorithms for vulnerability research and threat analysis
    • Analyzing measured structured and non-structured data using statistical, machine learning, and/or optimization techniques
    • Implementing models and algorithms in in Python, C/C++, and/or MATLAB
    • Ensuring quality of implemented algorithms and models through unit-level and system-level tests
    • Participating in laboratory and field tests to collect and analyze experimental data to support the verification, validation, and improvement of technical solutions
    Communicating technical ideas and implementations through reports and presentation Who you are:


    • This position requires the ability to obtain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance, for which U.S
    citizenship is needed by U.S
    Government.


    • MS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with 2 years of experience.
    • Proficiency in C/C++ or Python/MATLAB
    • Experience in implementing signal processing algorithms and statistical models
    Experience developing and giving technical presentations Nice to haves:


    • Active Security Clearance at the Top Secret (TS) level
    • Familiarity with software build and scripting tools (e.g
    make, bash), virtualization technology (e.g
    Docker)


    • Understanding of electromagnetics, machine learning, optimization models
    • Understanding of common software vulnerabilities, and secure programming principles
