- Perform civil engineering design, inspection, permitting and planning services related to site layout, utility routing, sanitary/storm sewer design, roadways, grading/earthwork, erosion control, and/or stormwater management systems.
- Determine the client's needs and produce solutions which are within their scope and budget.
- Work alongside other professionals in various disciplines in the development of designs.
- Act as Project Manager and Lead Engineer on single and multi-discipline projects.
- Produce Construction Document Packages including drawings, specifications, cost estimates, calculations, permits, and basis of design on a variety of project types.
- Perform construction phase services such as submittal review and approval, respond to contractor requests for information (RFIs), conduct site investigation visits, etc.
- Perform site assessments and develop detailed reports with recommendations and cost estimates.
- Take field measurements and notes to document existing facilities.
- Prepare accurate, well-organized, and detailed CAD drawings from field measurements and notes.
- Able to meet project budgets, schedules, and performance criteria in a fast-paced environment.
- Actively participate in the development, implementation, and enforcement of internal office standards.
- Possess an outgoing and positive attitude, and take personal pride in producing high quality and on-time designs for our clients.
- Possess the ability to coach and mentor other engineers and staff.
- Travel, including some overseas to friendly countries, is required.
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
- Minimum 10 – 15 years of experience working in an engineering practice related to civil engineering.
- A current passport or the ability to obtain a passport is required.
- Projects will include work for the U.S. Department of Defense on U.S. installations; U.S. citizenship is required.
- Knowledge of civil engineering design principles and construction methods. Experience with green building principles, such as Envision and LEED, is a plus.
- Advanced experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office products.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and personal computer skills.
- Strong management skills and a desire to grow professionally.
