    This role involves leading design processes for precision vacuum components and modules for cutting-edge vacuum infusion of engineered composite products.

    Your Role and Responsibilities:

    • Performing various processes such as Pressure Testing, RGA Leak Checking, operating exhaust pumps, managing high vacuum and gas backfilling in a dynamic production setting.
    • Creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the safe and efficient production of thermoformed parts.
    • Contributing to technical reviews of final design documents and drawings, which include Process Flow Diagrams, Control/Logic Diagrams, Process & Instrumentation Diagrams, Technical Specifications, analyses, calculations, and other design records.
    • Overseeing the operation of a vacuum brazes furnace to achieve the desired properties of complex assemblies.
    • Researching and exploring product science to enhance existing optical systems.
    • Developing and evaluating contamination control plans, devising mitigation strategies, and conducting material analyses.
    • Coordinating and executing thermal bake-outs and vacuum tests for hardware and scientific instruments.
    • Designing and creating mechatronic systems and automation processes for manufacturing ultra-high vacuum components, focusing on quality, efficiency, and scalability.
    • Updating documentation to reflect current processes or rectify any documentation inaccuracies.
    • Integrating mechanical and electrical components through sensing, actuation, control systems, and software.
    Required Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or related field with proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, TurboCAD, or similar software.
    • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in processing, or equivalent training and background.
    • At least 3 years of high vacuum exposure in a scientific or laboratory environment.
    • Prior involvement in mechatronics and robotics management within a manufacturing or laboratory setting.
    • Manufacturing background is advantageous.
    • Ability to work independently or collaboratively in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Expertise in vacuum infusion and experience in enhancing, developing, and adjusting manufacturing processes for composite products.
    • Specialized training in vacuum technology and electrical testing.
    • Proficiency with high vacuum hydrogen furnaces, high vacuum furnaces, and contamination control.
