    Responsibilities

    Leadership and Direction Receive broad guidance from executive and senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, policy matters and general parameters for execution.

    Manage people and processes required to ensure effective project execution. Coordinate review and manage work produced by client's legislative entitlement teams and facilitate governmental jurisdiction reviews.

    At the Operational and Company Level Continually market the firm's capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing clients.

    Represent firm on building and development industry boards and commissions to influence land use policies and regulations. Coordinate with other firm offices to expand opportunities. Coordinate with internal departments to meet project requirements.

    Do the Work Research, coordinate and collaborate topics of planning policies, zoning, site analysis, site design, jurisdictional processes, and provide recommendations where appropriate.

    Prepare and/or direct preparation and processing of feasibility analyses, due diligence reports, analysis of market trends and site selection, and legislative entitlement applications.

    Prepare preliminary sketch plans and concept plans for site layout of single family, multi-family, retail and industrial site development projects.

    Attend and represent client at stakeholder meetings and meetings with appointed and elected officials. Maintain healthy client relationships and possess solid operational insight for driving projects and executing deliverables. Understand client objectives and help them reach a successful outcome. Serve as liaison with client and Bowman development team members to assure development timelines and project objectives are met.

    Assist in all stages of the development process related to planning and completing projects, including tracking agency review and response cycles and providing status updates to Bowman teams and clients.

    Assist with preparation of Design Guidelines, exhibits and illustrative plans for legislative projects.

    Preparation of proposals and contracts and oversee project metrics, beginning with proposal preparation and fee development and continuing throughout the life of the project.

    Success Metrics and Competencies Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to work/research in various jurisdictions and states.

    Ability to research, interpret, and accurately apply topics such as planning and public policy, zoning, site analysis, site design, jurisdictional process, timelines, and provide recommendations where appropriate.

    General understanding of jurisdictional permits, permitting process and scheduling. Strong project management, organization, and communication skills. Outstanding technical and computer skills. Ability to lead project meetings and deliver client presentations. Data analysis and interpretation skills. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in planning, landscape architecture, real estate or related discipline required. Master's degree in one of those disciplines preferred. Registered Professional Planner in applicable state, preferred.

    Seven or more (7+) years of experience in project management, building and development industry projects, preferably related to the planning strategies, policies, and regulations.

    Minimum of three (3) years assistant project management experience. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Proficiency in design software; Bluebeam and GIS/ArcView preferred. Must hold a valid state driver's license and successfully pass a motor vehicle check.

    Physical Demands and Working Environment Primarily indoor professional office environment, which can consist of possible bright/dim light, noise, fumes, odors, and traffic.

    Mobility around an office environment.

    Frequent and prolonged use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers Occasional outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.

    Mobility around a project site to include walking, bending, crawling, climbing, squatting, or kneeling.
