    05/17/2024 The reading interventionist will work extensively with K-1 students who are struggling in reading. They will help them improve specific reading skills such as letter naming, initial, medial, and ending sounds, phoneme segmentation, decoding and encoding, and comprehension strategies. The reading interventionist will support the specific needs of a particular child when regular classroom instruction is not sufficient. The reading interventionist will work with the teacher to design methods of learning that are most appropriate for each child based on formal/informal assessments, classroom assignments, teacher observations, and other forms of documentation as directed by the school/district.

    POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
    • High School Diploma is required
    • Bachelor's degree is preferred
    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Consult frequently with classroom teachers on matters relating to reading instruction using our progress-monitoring instrument as a basis of intervention.
    • Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations (not limited to lesson plans, student progress, and attendance)
    • Training and implementation in reading strategies with fidelity.
    • Help teachers identify students' reading strengths and weaknesses and match these skills with appropriate interventions, techniques and materials.
    • Keep the teachers, administrators, and district administrator informed as to the purposes and progress of the intervention as requested.
    • Work with teachers, administrators, and district administrator to facilitate the coordination of the reading intervention with the total curriculum.
    • Comply with all district and local campus routines and regulations
    • Maintain a positive and effective relationship with supervisors and coworkers
    • Be familiar with Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III levels of support.
    • Perform other duties as assigned
