    As the Manager of Materials your goal is to manage the flow of materials into, through, and out of the facility.

    You will collaborate with managers and teams throughout the facility to determine inventory and purchasing needs as they relate to production demand and forecasts and mitigate discrepancies and disruptions as they arise.


    You will do this by:
    Leads team to optimize forecast, demand planning and creates supply plans that ensure availability of service parts and products
    Monitors forecasts and demand to identify changes or to determine their effect on supply chain activities
    Defines performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of supply chain factors, inventory accuracy, and shipping/receiving compliance
    Analyzes inventories to determine how to increase inventory turns, manage fill rates, determine estimated time of arrival, reduce waste, or optimize customer service
    Manages production scheduling to meet the sales forecast
    Ensures component and product inventory is stored and managed in an appropriate manner
    Partners with Corporate functions to ensure proper roll out and adherence to corporate Supply Chain directives along with maximizing synergies with other Briggs & Stratton entities
    Manages activities related to tactical purchasing, material requirements planning, inventory control, Kanban, vendor managed inventory, logistics, warehousing, shipping and receiving
    Participates in the coordination of engineering changes, product line extensions, or new product launches to ensure orderly and timely transitions in material or production flow
    Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
    Performs other duties as assigned

    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelors Degree in Supply Chain Management or a related field.
    Typically requires a minimum of seven years of experience in supply chain management.


    Preferred Qualifications:
    Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is a plus.
    Experience in a high volume manufacturing environment is a plus.
    APICS Certified in Production and Inventory management (CPIM)
    Six Sigma Black-Belt


    Additional Knowledge & Skills:
    Thorough knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, inventory, and quality procedures and management programs and systems
    Comprehensive understanding of integrated supply chain management including demand planning, forecasting and procurement
    Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to interact with diverse groups of people inside and outside of the corporation
    Excellent analytical skills and the ability to exercise judgment and make critical decisions
    Proficient computer skills including familiarity with enterprise resource planning and business intelligence/analytics systems, Google, and MS Office applications
    Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

    Physical & Environmental Requirements:
    Must be comfortable working in a hybrid office/manufacturing setting. This position will be active on the manufacturing floor as well as within the digital systems of the facility.
