    Description

    A financial services firm located in Connecticut is actively seeking an experienced and collaborative professional to join their staff as an Assistant Controller. In this role, the Assistant Controller will work within a team that is responsible for managing the accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls for lending funds.

    Responsibilities

    The Assistant Controller will:

    • Assist in the management and oversight of third party administrator relationship
    • Liaise with external auditors; perform research and interpret relevant accounting guidance
    • Assist in the management and oversight of third party administrator relationship
    • Collaborate with Operations team on an on-going basis to ensure investment data accuracy as well as accurate accounting treatment for various transactions
    • Compute investor calls/distributions, rebalancings, allocations and fees, and waterfall payments
    • Calculate quarterly income distributions, oversee production of capital statements and investor notices
    • Prepare investor sideletter reporting and ad hoc requests
    • Build-out processes and internal controls to support new funds and accounts
    • Proactively drive process improvements, efficiency and reporting enhancements
    • Work closely with Tax, Valuation, Legal, Investor Relations, and Operations teams
    Qualifications
    • Undergraduate degree
    • 6-10 years of relevant experience
    • Excellent Excel skills; technically savvy
    • Outstanding attention to detail and committed to process and related improvements
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong project management skills
    • Ability to multitask
    Desired skills
    • CPA
    • Mix of Public / Private experience
    • Experience with audits and working with fund administrators/service providers
    • Understanding of a loan origination or PE style/commitment based funds and various performance metrics (e.g. ROE, IRR, MoM)
    • Private credit, CLO, and/or BDC experience
