    Description


    Responsible for oversight of the warehouse-related functions including all aspects of the receipt, storage, and shipment of materials and product to satisfy customer demand. Assists the Service Center Manager in scheduling work and provides work direction to warehouse team members. Acts as backup to the Service Center Manager, performing responsibilities of position as needed.

    Requirements

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Performs all functions of Warehouse Specialist as needed to accomplish daily workload
    • Safely operates all necessary types of equipment to carry out a particular phase of the warehouse cycle
    • Ensures warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople and customer traffic
    • Organizes warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times
    • Adheres to and enforces all safety requirements including use of proper PPE
    • Performs routine equipment maintenance as needed
    • Maintains simple reports on work orders and quantities produced
    • Reviews daily warehouse schedule for the department to ensure proper coverage for the shift. Notifies Service Center Manager of any variances immediately.
    • Supervises and directs warehouse team members in performing operations according to sound operating principles and company policies and procedures.
    • Prepares performance assessments and progress reports for warehouse team members
    • Responsible for documenting pertinent information for the performance assessment of the warehouse team members
    • Conducts performance assessment/progress report meetings with warehouse team members
    • Completes appropriate HR forms for warehouse team members
    • Immediately notifies Service Center Manager of any quality issues or shipping error and all necessary information to the Service Center Manager
    • Deliver driver milk run program
    • May be a team member in conducting plantwide safety audits.
    • May sub for Service Center Manager in their absence.
    • Assists in counting of physical inventory
    • Punctuality and regular attendance
    Non-Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
    • Communicates as needed internally and externally to provide and receive information, resolve questions and issues, and coordinate activities.
    • Conducts safety and 5-S audits and maintains good housekeeping in the department.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    • Physical ability to do work requiring frequent lifting, twisting, bending, stooping, pulling, pushing, walking, and standing for 8+ hours per day
    • Ability to frequently bend, stretch and lift up to 50 pounds
    • Must be able to operate a forklift and have a clean driving record
    COMPENTENCY, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Basic math, counting, and reasoning skills
    • Sufficient reading and writing ability to follow work order instructions, safety rules/regulations and prepare warehouse reports as needed.
    • Sufficient visual acuity (corrected) to read instructions, distinguish color, operate machines, and visually inspect parts produced
    • Sufficient manual dexterity to operate machines properly
    • Patience with problems and issues
    • Able to change focus frequently and often while being detail orientated and well organized
    • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, inter-department personnel, and other warehouse employees
    • Strong time management skills
    • Ability to read and empathize with customers and a have good customer service attitude
    • Ability to manage and work in a demanding and fast environment
    • Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
    • Willingness to learn, make mistakes and good sense of humor
    • Ability to learn to use tape measure, calipers, micrometers & propylene/acetylene cutting torches
    • Ability and willingness to cross-train in other areas
    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    REQUIRED:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    PREFERRED:
    • Some College - Preferred
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    • Working in various temperatures depending on the location of the center
