    Job Description


    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    Increase the sales and profits of Abbott Diabetes Care by leading a region of District Managers and Diabetes Sales Specialists.

    Provide clear direction and feedback of results achieved. Work closely with the marketing teams and other sales channels to develop synergistic sales plans. Ensure that systems are in place to enable the business to operate in a legal and ethical manner. Complete each year under expense plan.


    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Increase the sales and profits of the Region through the management of sales activities of Sales Managers and representatives.

    Lead, coach, and develop subordinates to improve their leadership skills and exceed sales goals. Provide strategic and tactical feedback to marketing. Direct the implementation of divisional sales and marketing programs. Monitor performance and adjust resources as needed. Ensure that all activities fall within the corporate compliance guidelines. Coordinate with Sales Training and ensure that the appropriate training for managers and representatives is delivered. Coordinate, develop and implement, with Sales Operations, the appropriate systems for call tracking, territory analysis, and sample accountability.

    MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
    Number of Direct Reports - Up to 7. Direct reports, under current structure, include up to seven District Sales Managers (DM) with 10-12 district members.


    MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
    Four-year university degree. MBA preferred, but not required.

    MINIMUM TRAINING &


    EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
    Minimum 3 years of selling experience Marketing or other HQ experience is desirable. 3 years' experience in sales management or a Marketing Leadership Role. Has demonstrated coaching, leadership, and planning skills. Must demonstrate the ability to understand and develop promotional/selling strategy in the field and set direction for their team. Can communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Should have an understanding of who our core customers are.


    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    3 years of managing managers and leading large teams. 5 years of sales management experience. 2 years' experience in Marketing with cross sales channel experience is highly desired.

    ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE/


    BUDGET:
    Responsible for ensuring that ADC sales goals and objectives are met while optimizing the use of resources. Accountable for the adherence to corporate ethical and compliance guidelines. Responsible for ensuring the development of procedures and systems that enable the business to grow in an ethical manner. Complete each year under the planned expense budget.

    The base pay for this position is
    $143, $286,700.00
    In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
