- Coordinate and oversee the completion of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) assessments for all residents in accordance with Medicare guidelines
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure accurate and timely completion of MDS assessments
- Review and analyze resident medical records to identify any gaps or inconsistencies in documentation
- Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations related to MDS assessments and documentation
- Provide education and training to staff on MDS coding, documentation requirements, and Medicare guidelines
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to MDS assessments and clinical documentation
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure accurate coding and reimbursement for services provided
- Strong knowledge of hospital, Medicare, and critical care settings
- Registered Nurse (RN) license preferred
- Experience with HEDIS measures and reporting
- Knowledge of physiology and medical terminology
- Familiarity with utilization review processes
- Proficiency in medical coding standards (ICD10, CPT)
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
