    Embedded Systems/IoT Controls Engineer

    *This position in located in Loveland, OH, and candidates MUST reside in Cincinnati area. This is not a hybrid position, you will be required to come into the office. No relocation assistance given.
    Position Summary

    The Embedded Systems/IoT Controls Engineer is part of the team that is responsible for Cold Jet's IoT firmware and designated electrical control design of new and existing products within Cold Jet's ECaSP product program at the Loveland Ohio office.


    The Embedded Systems/IoT Controls Engineer will assist in the development of hardware control systems and IoT communications systems, and create and maintain firmware for, assigned areas of Cold Jet's product portfolio.

    This can include PCB design and testing, microcontroller firmware development and testing, management of over-the-air (OTA) software/firmware deployment, and managing associated database and cloud data infrastructures.

    Position Responsibilities

    Essential Functions in Design and Engineering

    Design, build, and maintain efficient and reliable C / C++ code
    Develop and maintain high-quality machine electrical controls and I-IoT connected
    systems for Cold Jet's Dry Ice Blaster product program
    Work closely with other engineers to develop new products
    Work with cross-functional project teams and manage/represent the electrical/controls
    function for new and existing products.
    Plan, design, develop, manage, document, test, deploy, and support new and existing modules

    • Create and maintain electrical/controls product specification and requirement throughout
    the product development cycle

    • Specify electrical system components and design to ensure conformance with international regulatory codes (EEC, UL, etc.)
    , power requirements and overall performance specifications

    • Document designs and specifications using computer assisted design/drafting
    equipment, manufacturing database, and software
    Work on extensions of existing products

    • Suggest and implement improvements on current products
    Customer Service and Support

    Provide support and training to our global customer service in electrical/controls diagnostics,
    troubleshooting, and field servicing
    Provide support and training to our manufacturing operations as needed
    Contribute to product development initiatives and projects.
    Contribute to the overall success of the organization.

    Position Requirements

    Education & Experience

    BS in Electrical Engineering, Systems/Controls Engineering or applicable work experience.
    Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial machine design and development.
    Extensive programming experience in C, C++, and C#
    Experience with wireless sensor controls and developing firmware for industrial IoT products
    Experience with STM32 (firmware and hardware)
    Skill Competencies

    Proficient with C, C++, C#
    Proficient with CAD and design of electrical schematics and circuits
    Proven experience with industrial IoT products, as well as managing the database and cloud
    infrastructure
    Experience using ST Micro STM32 HAL/Middleware libraries
    Experience with AWS, REST/RPC APIs
    Familiar with Python, Perl, Assembly, Java, Shell Scripting, Systems Programming (Linux/Windows, Networking, POSIX)
    Familiar with international power and electrical regulatory requirements (CE, UL, etc.)
    Good understanding of System Architecture philosophies.
    Able to follow coding standards and apply best practice
    Project Management skills
    Solid communication skills
    Willing to travel domestic and internationally if needed
