    Luke's Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Oncology Med Surg for a nursing job in Boise, Idaho.

    Luke's Health System in Boise is seeking an experienced RN to join our Inpatient Oncology team

    Unit/Position Summary

    On Boise 4 South- Med/Surg Inpatient Oncology, you will gain experience caring for patients along every phase of the cancer continuum, from diagnosis and treatment to palliative/symptom management and comfort care.

    You will care for post-surgical patients, patients receiving chemotherapy and some medical-surgical overflow.

    Those interested in an ICU-type experience will be able to care for patients who are critically ill and need close monitoring/intervention.


    Challenge yourself alongside a supportive team that is committed to safety and excellence in patient care.

    After an individualized orientation, RNs will be trained in chemotherapy administration, working with the young adult population, symptom management/palliative care, and Idaho's only autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant programs.

    You will gain expertise working with central lines, monitoring lab results and treating critical electrolyte imbalances and blood cell counts.

    In addition, the unit offers a biennial oncology conference, biennial stem cell transplant conference, cross-training to a connected outpatient unit, and multiple leadership opportunities to enhance and advance oncology care.

    Identifies patient needs and determines priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
    Develops, implements and coordinates individualized plan of care for patients assigned through initial and on-going assessments.
    Initiates assessment based on the patient's problems or needs, the physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
    Performs therapeutic nursing interventions.
    Documents care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and/or clinical priorities
    Advocates for evidence-based practice care standards and supports adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
    Provides patient centric care in alignment with professional nursing practice model.
    Nursing Degree (BSN preferred)
