    Position: Physical Therapist (Acute Care)

    Shift:
     Day 5x8-Hour (07:00 - 17:00)
    -
    Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
    -
    Location: 450-bed trauma level 3 hospital with a patient census of approximately 360, comprising 7 floors
    -

    Collaborative Team:     Work alongside 8-10 Physical Therapists (PTs) and 6-8 Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs) daily, along with Occupational Therapy (OT) and Speech Therapy (ST) teams, and case management professionals


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive physical therapy services for:
    • Orthopedic conditions
    • Neurological rehabilitation
    • Oncology patients
    • Postoperative care for back and neck surgeries
    • Basic medicalsurgical and ICU patients (medical, cardiac, and surgical)
    • Conduct patient assessments and create individualized treatment plans
    • Utilize adaptive devices and modalities for effective patient care
    • Monitor vital signs, pain levels, and overall patient progress
    • Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and recovery strategies
    • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes

    Preferred Certifications:

    • TX Physical Therapy License (pending applications accepted)
    • BLS Certification (preferred)

    Essential Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of assessment techniques and pain management
    • Experience with a variety of patient populations, including geriatrics and poststroke rehabilitation
    • Proficient in use of equipment such as gait belts, crutches, and specialty beds
    • Ability to work under productivity standards and manage daily patient loads of 1012
