    Job Summary

    The Department Supervisor is responsible for the overall operation of safely producing cabinet components on time, complete, to quality standards, to material usage standards, and to productivity standards by maximizing the personnel, material, equipment, and information resources available, and supervision of staff.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    1. Ensures safety procedures are followed within the department.
    2. Monitors quality and material usage within the department.
    3. Administers the production flow of cabinet components.
    4. Monitors schedule and productivity reporting on a continuous basis and directs associates to make adjustments to meet the schedule and productivity goals.
    5. Determines productivity goals for department through maintaining labor expenditures.
    6. Notifies Production Manager of low quantities of component parts and accessories.
    7. Designs and develops work team procedures, and ensures procedures are followed.
    8. Verifies quality of cabinets constructed.
    9. Advises and consults with work teams.
    10. Researches and develops new techniques for procedure improvements.
    11. Researches and recommends new equipment purchases.
    12. Monitors rework and backorder problems.
    13. Advises and consults with R&D about incorrect prints.
    14. Reviews vendor performances.
    15. Communicates professionally and effectively with all employees and managers to ensure a consistent flow of product throughout the facility.
    16. Notifies Production Manager of potential and existing problems that might interrupt production flow.
    17. Other duties as assigned.

    Required Education and/or Experience:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • Must be fully trained and able to perform the required job tasks in the assigned department.
    • Intermediate computer skills are required.
    Physical Demands:

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate frequently is required to walk. The associate is occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and taste or smell. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.

    Work Environment:

    While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The associate is frequently exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals. The associate is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
