    Description

    This exclusive opportunity is available to Department of Revenue employees only. The Revenue Audit division's REET team is offering a new and exciting role as an Excise Tax Examiner 4 (ETE 4). Join the team to ensure fair and consistent application of tax regulations and laws, while encouraging increased voluntary tax compliance for various programs.

    Duties

    • Review audit assessments and administrative petitions.
    • Approve audit assessments and no-tax audits.
    • Assist with challenging tax discussions.
    • Provide training support to staff.
    • Act as a liaison between divisions, county Treasurers, stakeholders, and taxpayers.
    • Contribute to rule development, tax bulletins, legislation proposals, and educational outreach.

    Qualifications

    Key qualifications:

    • Minimum one year experience as an Excise Tax Examiner 3.
    • OR
    • Two or more years of senior-level DOR experience in accounting, auditing, compliance, or tax administration with completion of requisite accounting coursework.
    • OR
    • Three years of senior-level experience in accounting, compliance, auditing, or tax administration with completion of necessary accounting coursework.

      • Preference may be given to candidates with:

    • A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or related field with relevant accounting coursework.
    • Professional experience substituting for education, specifically in real estate or appraisal.
