Senior Data Architect & Modeler

Reporting Relationships:
This position reports to the Director of Data Management.

Role Summary and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing data models, data lakehouses, and data pipelines on the Azure Synapse data platform.

The ideal candidate should possess a deep understanding of cloud data architecture, data modeling best practices, ETL development and the Azure Synapse data platform.

Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain data models for healthcare data in Azure.
Design and implement ETL Synapse data pipelines for efficient data processing and storage.
Work with stakeholders to understand their data requirements and translate them into data models.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data is properly modeled and integrated into analytical workflows.
Optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
Develop and maintain documentation of data models, data pipelines, and related processes.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in data modeling and architecture, preferably in the Synapse platform.
Expertise in Azure cloud platform, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL Database.
Experience in migrating fr

om Azure SQL to Azure Synapse is strongly preferred (delta table, spark pools, etc.).
Experience with healthcare data standards, such as HL7, FHIR, and SNOMED-CT.
Knowledge and Experience in Pyspark, Spark SQL.
Databricks knowledge is a plus but not necessary.
Strong knowledge of data modeling concepts and best practices, such as relational and dimensional modeling.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Azure Data Engineer or

Microsoft Certified:
Azure Solutions Architect Expert, are a plus.
The salary range for this position is $110 - $133K.
Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
