- Design, model, simulate, prototype, develop and release to manufacturing new products.
- Document new IP ideas and work directly with legal to contribute to the filing process.
- Strong desire to design plastic injection molded-based products and invent electromechanical systems.
- Desire to develop new and improve existing test methods during the development and sustaining of products.
- Construct, inspect, and clean samples used during internal and customer qualification.
- Design, execute, and interpret engineering analysis to verify the design, manufacturability, and performance of new and derivative products.
- Validate new products and changes/improvements to product performance using statistical analysis.
- Plan and execute small-scale projects following phase gate principles.
- Develop and update product development plans, schedules, and budgets.
- Identify and resolve issues proactively to achieve on-time release to market.
- Collaborate and maintain relationships cross functionally, including Product Management, Quality, and Manufacturing teams.
- Interact daily with internal senior engineering and leadership.
- Occasional morning or evening conference calls with international colleagues.
- BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering
- 0-2 years experience
- 3D CAD design in SolidWorks and/or Creo (Pro-Engineer)
- Arduino programming (Python or similar software)
- Use of analytical methods such as FEA, CFD, tolerance analysis, and statistics.
- "Hands-on" mechanical aptitude.
- Willingness to travel globally (10%).
- Passion for making great products and solving tough technical problems.
- Desire to develop and review concepts, prototypes, designs, drawings, and technical specifications.
