Job summary
The Swim Instructor is responsible for providing swim instruction to participants of varying ages while ensuring a safe positive and engaging learning environment This position emphasizes swimmer safety skill development and adherence to policies and aquatic safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Provide swim instruction in accordance with established swim lesson levels and curriculum
- Teach swim lessons to children of varying ages and skill levels including small group and individual instruction Begin end classes on time remain after class as needed to answer children or parent questions clean up supplies Educate children on proper swimming techniques promote water safety at all times Maintain accurate legible attendance records progress reports certificates Ensure all teaching areas are free of hazards equipment materials returned designated storage locations Identify remove report hazards unsafe conditions Recreation Supervisor immediately Communicate positively professionally parents guardians regarding swim lesson progress skill development Respond accident emergency situations established accident incident protocols Maintain professional appearance attitude high standard customer service Wear uniform duty Learn follow perform assigned roles Aquatic Emergency Action Plan EAP Set extra pool furniture supplies needed Participate pool activities required Pool Manager Recreation Supervisor Perform other related aquatic duties assigned Pool Manager Recreation Supervisor
