    Responsibilities:

    Understand and follow all Kosher regulations
    Have knowledge and understanding of menus each day
    Have knowledge of and execute proper food handling
    Have knowledge of and execute portion control
    Communicate production needs to the Supervisor
    Communicate quality and food experience to Supervisor
    Hold all food at proper temperatures to ensure food is presented attractively
    Cover, label, and date all food to be stored in the refrigerators and freezers
    Clean, sanitize, and maintain all work areas, storage areas, utensils and equipment according to the latest regulatory (state, Kosher) requirements
    Recognize problems and work towards improving systems and procedures
    Attend regular meetings as assigned
    Recognize problems and work toward improving processes and procedures. Communicates issues/concerns to leadership, offers suggestions and solutions and participates in quality improvement initiatives.
    Serves as a resource/mentor to the team, new employees, and students (if applicable)
    Practices in accordance with established standards of care for safety of residents, self and co-workers
    Wears slip resistant shoes. A clean uniform as approved by the facility and ID badges are job requirements.
    Identifies and reports basic safety issues or problems (ex. Spills) and takes action whenever appropriate
    Uses equipment as trained and according to organizational policy
    Promotes the health and safety of all by following established infection control procedures (i.e., hand washing, use of personal protective equipment)
    Follows and stays updated on processes and policies within department and organization
    Perform additional related duties as directed

    Position Responsibilities specific to packaging and deliver
    Make sure work area is clean and sanitized
    Have knowledge of all menu items
    Pay close attention to items on each menu and make sure each slip is filled correctly
    Have knowledge and understand Kosher and Non Kosher items
    Package each meal neatly and securely
    Make sure the correct meal goes to the correct apartment
    Delivery only during delivery times
    Fulfill any items missed
    Perform additional related duties as directed

    Required Qualifications:

    1-3 years of experience in the food service industry, preferable in a healthcare setting
    Food Handler Certification certified within 3 months of hire
    High School or equivalent plus post high school specializing in food service training.
    Knowledge and experience of methods and procedures involved in cooking, salad preparation, sandwich making, sanitation, and storage.
    Must be able to speak, read, and write fluently in the English language
