- Established in the early 1960s, the Virginia Treatment Center for Children (VTCC) is the Child and Adolescent Division of the VCU Medical Centers Department of Psychiatry and the pediatric psychiatric service of the comprehensive array of services offered by Childrens Hospital of Richmond at VCU.
- Teach child and adolescent psychiatry to medical students, residents, fellows, nurse practitioners, and graduate trainees.
- Provide psychiatric assessment and treatment primarily in an outpatient setting and offer consultation/liaison services to Pediatric medicine/ED utilizing both onsite and telepsychiatry approaches.
- Mentor and work with an interdisciplinary team including medical students, residents, fellows, and other professionals to ensure the best care for patients.
- Support training and collaboration in community settings and engage in research activities to enhance access to child psychiatry services.
- Must be Board Eligible/Board Certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
- Demonstrated experience in working with pediatric patients, including those with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and mental health conditions.
- Experience in teaching within an academic environment and a passion for nurturing the next generation of healthcare professionals.
- Comfortable with fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Desire to contribute to an academic medical setting.
