Duties Include:
Responsible for managing the
Sales (on site and satellite), Catering and Event personnel and activities.
The Director of Sales is an active selling role.
The DOS will be responsible for prospecting, negotiation and contracting new and legacy accounts to support the objectives of the sales department and the property financial goals.
Develop and implant strategic sales plans and forecasts to achieve corporate objectives for products and servicesDevelop and manage sales operating budgets
Develop and recommend product positioning, packaging and pricing strategy and long-term market share
Achieve satisfactory profit /loss ratio and market share in relation to present standards and industry and economic trends
Oversees and evaluates market research and adjusts sales strategy to achieve competitive conditions
Monitors competitor products and sales activities.
Establishes and maintains a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events
Directs sales forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly
Directs staffing, training and performance evaluations to develop and control sales programs.
Represents the Westin Riverfront at trade association meetings to promote the resort
Meets with key clients, assisting the sales team with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals
Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to confirm to budgetary requirements
Prepares monthly sales report to show sales volume, potential sales and areas of proposed client base expansion
Reviews and analyzes sales performances against programs, quotas and plans to determine effectiveness
Keeps the Sales team focused on guest satisfaction and desired financial results
Ensures that all Sales services are provided according to operating standards
Creates, maintains and ensures compliance with Sales policies, standards and procedures
Establishes goals and objectives for all areas of responsibility and communicates effectively same to all colleagues
Directs colleagues to strive for continuous improvement and excellence in all areas of responsibility
Works with Front Office department to coordinate room inspections for VIP guests
Understands and communicates to colleagues the operating and maintenance procedures of all departmental equipment
Supervises and approves the budgeting and ordering of departmental supplies
Maintains a strong working relationship with Front Office and Food & Beverage to ensure effective communications for operational issues.
Maintains a strong working relationship with all departments to support hotel operations and goals and to expedite the resolution of any problems that may arise through the general operation of the hotel
Intervenes in any guest / colleague situation as needed to ensure the integrity of the hotel is maintained, guest satisfaction is achieved and colleague well-being is preserved
Is aware of all VIPs staying at the resort
Displays strong and up-to-date knowledge of local services
Implements in-room digital guest directory ensuring that all information is up-to-date and in good condition
Manages Guest Satisfaction program and complies with policy in relation to reporting, trend analysis and resolution
Maintains high visibility in public areas if requested
Provides immediate assistance to guests as requested
Ensures that all colleagues of the Sales department understand and comply with Loss Prevention policies to prevent accidents and control costs
Empowers colleagues to provide excellent customer service.
Establishes effective and clear guidelines so colleagues understand expectations and parameters.
Ensures regular and on-going communication is happening in all areas of responsibility to create awareness of business objectives and communicates expectations, recognizes performance and produces desired business results
Observes service behaviors of colleagues and provides individual feedback to individuals; continuously strives to improve service performance
Attends and participates in weekly revenue meetings
Each colleague is expected to carry out all reasonable requests by management which the colleague is capable of performing
Coordinates with Marketing team as needed to achieve department and property goals

Pay Range

$110,000 to $120,000/annuallyplus up to 20% year-end bonus
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Degree preferred
Hospitality Management Degree beneficial
Minimum of 8 years in similar position at luxury resort required
Ski Resort experience preferred
