Job Summary:

This role involves treating patients based on physician's orders and departmental policies in acute and critical care settings. You'll work independently, consult with medical staff, and provide recommendations on treatment. The ideal candidate should have the skills to care for patients of all age groups.

Responsibilities:

Acts independently to perform respiratory therapy procedures - 30%
Obtains and analyzes blood gases accurately - 10%
Manages patients requiring mechanical ventilation - 20%
Handles airways and related equipment - 10%
Documents procedures, charges accurately, and educates patients and families - 10%
Communicates effectively with the healthcare team - 10%
Ensures infection control and quality standards - 10%
Manages resources efficiently - 10%

Requirements:

To be considered, you need an Associate's Degree from an accredited Respiratory Care Program. In lieu of this, relevant diploma or experience may be accepted. Other requirements include a South Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner license, Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), BLS and maintaining NBRC credentials. Additional certifications like NRP, PALS, ACLS may be necessary depending on the work unit.
