    WHAT IS BOX? ****

Box is the market leader for Cloud Content Management. Our mission is to power how the world works together. Box is partnering with enterprise organizations to accelerate their digital transformation by creating a single platform for secure content management, collaboration and workflow. We have an amazing opportunity to further establish ourselves as leaders in the space, and we need strong advocates to help us achieve that goal.

By joining Box, you will have the unique opportunity to help capture a majority of this developing market and define what content management looks like for the digital enterprise. Today, Box powers over 97,000 businesses, including 68% of the Fortune 500 who trust Box to manage their content in the cloud.

    WHY BOX NEEDS YOU

Customers must have content in Box to realize the benefits of the Box Content Cloud. The Shuttle team is building state of the art content migration capabilities to accelerate the acquisition of existing content from other repositories. These other repositories include file servers and competitive collaboration platforms. This effort is critical to increasing the breadth and depth of the content enterprises store on Box. In this role you will be a key player in the development of this system.

The Box Shuttle content ingestion product is a cloud-based service which manages content migrations of any scale, from gigabytes to petabytes, using a split control/data plane architecture with a multi-tenant service which orchestrates and monitors large numbers of concurrent per-tenant data transfers running on various combinations of customer-hosted and auto-provisioned public cloud infrastructure. Our backend is built in Python and our data transfer engine is written in Javascript and C++.

Our goal is to offer the highest performance content migration and transformation functionality to all Box customers. Today only a subset of Box customers utilize content migration, and in order to deliver on this goal of broad adoption we need to scale up our service to support the additional load. This scale-up will include selective rearchitecture and replatforming, as well as careful performance measurements to identify optimization candidates.
