Job summary

The Sr Project Engineer New Product Introduction is responsible for supporting the development of new processes and carrying out each trial exactly to the established product specification.
This role will be supporting our Powerwall product at our Nevada Gigafactory.
The primary role of the Project Engineer will be to test and validate systems and parts involved in product development and manufacturing to ensure products are of the highest quality. To support this, the Project Engineer will also establish validation standards develop testing protocols prepare equipment document test results and maintain records The Project Engineer will identify report and adjust equipment or processes that require improvement The Project Engineer will collaborate with safety design product excellence change control manufacturing and service departments

Responsibilities

- Lead manufacturing line trials for new products processed
- Conduct trial preparation reporting Ensure part availability line readiness pre-requisite data obtained consolidated Document observations analysis results make recommendations as needed drive solutions Record all issues found during trials help drive to closure Manage trial recovery Ensure manufacturing lines are validated restored to prior condition post-trials Evaluate success of each trial yield downtime cost safety etc Become expert level trainer on all machines assigned areas responsible for level knowledge Shift technicians Provide hands-on support maintenance team troubleshoot resolve extended downtime situations Serve subject matter expert SME on trials ensure proper validation procedures followed Manage quality assurance procedures by testing validating systems parts Assist establishing implementing new validation standards procedures Driving accountability project program milestones key initiatives project success criteria Coordinating cross-functional stakeholders track execution projects production operations engineering functions finance accounting material production planning design teams Development deployment world class operations playbook across energy product manufacturing sites preventative maintenance business reviews etc Lead guide mentor junior team members
