Your role as a Warehouse Specialist

As a Warehouse Specialist at QC Supply in Ames, Iowa, you'll be the master of all things inventory. From the moment products arrive at our facility to the final billing to our customers, you'll be the wizard behind the curtain making sure everything runs smoothly. What you need to be successful

To excel as a Warehouse Specialist at QC Supply, you'll need a diverse skill set to tackle the varied tasks at hand. From utilizing inventory management systems for verification and data entry to efficiently picking, packing, and shipping products, attention to detail is key. You'll be staging and organizing materials within the warehouse, so an understanding of inventory control concepts is beneficial.

Physical stamina is a must, as you'll be on your feet for a significant portion of the day and may need to lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Experience in a warehouse or distribution setting, along with forklift certification, is highly preferred. Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand basic English.
• Ability to function in a fast paced customer driven environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Verification of inbound product and entry of receipt information in the inventory management system.
• Staging and put away of inbound materials into warehouse bin location utilizing the inventory management system.
• Accurate picking/ packing and shipping of product to Customers/ QC Sites and Vendor Partners.
• Aid in transfer into and stocking of the QC Supply on site retail space.
• Aid in performance of cycle counts and physical inventories within the Facility.
• Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to an environment of teamwork and collaboration.
• General housekeeping and sanitation of warehouse and retail workspaces.
• Other duties as assigned.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Experience working within a warehouse and distribution environment.
• Experience utilizing portable technology within a warehouse environment.
• Understanding of inventory control concepts.
• Forklift certification and experience with stand-up and sit down lifts

This position will require up to 100% standing and walking/ with up to 20% percent of the associates time spent in an office or retail environment/ but greater than 80% spent in a distribution warehouse.
