    As a Composite Strengthening Systems Field Engineer, you will be responsible for working independently and with your teammates to drive the use of Simpson's Composite Strengthening Systems (CSS) solutions to achieve existing structure retrofit and rehabilitation project goals in Northern CA, WA, OR, MT and AK.

    You will be a top-level contributor/specialist providing expert consultation to internal and external customers, including engineers, architects and general contractors.

    You are responsible for identifying and addressing customer and project needs, competition, and market potential and helping to execute the business strategy for this innovative and growing product line.

    You will research and communicate appropriate market trends and field opportunities to management and industry partners to ensure customer satisfaction.

    You will establish and maintain relationships with design professionals, specifiers and major contractors to provide consultation on strengthening projects for existing structures and obtain the specification of Simpson products while performing a variety of other tasks.

    Work with external customers and team members to identify opportunities to provide consultation in the areas of design, testing, development, and implementation of Simpson Strong-Tie's (SST) Composite Strengthening Systems (CSS) products to meet project needs.

    You will work in conjunction with the CSS team to develop project-specific solutions to best achieve the project's goals and be responsible for communicating those solutions to customers and coordinate with other team members to ensure successful follow through on projects from concept to completion.

    (Identify project opportunities and work closely with the team to support the use of our CSS on projects, specifically on predetermined 'bid days' for important projects. (Develop and maintain relationships with key engineers, engineering firms and contractors within the region.

    Support the other members of Simpson's Northwest team by establishing a team approach to engaging key design professionals in order to obtain the specification of our CSS products and other relevant Simpson products.

    Provide jobsite support for our CSS installer partners as necessary such as attending pre-bid job walks and performing intermittent site visits.

    (Give and participate in technical presentations and workshops to external customers to describe how our CSS products provide an elegant and efficient solution for retrofit and rehabilitation projects.

    These events require scheduling, promotion, set-up, creating content and giving presentations, take-down, as well as providing observation and suggestions for improvement.

    (Work with the product management team to help in identifying new testing opportunities, potential products and tools needed to increase use of CSS products. (Identify and maintain Department of Transportation approvals for concrete repair and strengthening products.

    Other duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to, consistent CRM management and usage, scheduling trips and presentations, submitting expense reports in a timely manner, regular maintenance of company-owned vehicles, and other duties as assigned.

    (S. degree in Civil/Structural Engineering Preferred.
    ~5 years structural design experience designing retrofits or reinforced concrete commercial structures Preferred.
    ~1-year Sales or design experience with externally bonded fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) strengthening systems considered a plus.
    ~ Practical working knowledge of common concrete and steel construction methods including Commercial jobsite etiquette understanding.
    ~ General knowledge of concrete, repair and Simpson's Commercial product line.
    ~ Manage multiple projects and competing priorities. written and verbal, proof reading, professional phone demeanor. 2 years computer experience (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, ACAD, various design software).
    ~ Practical working knowledge of common concrete and steel construction methods.
    ~ Possess and maintain a driving record which complies with company policy.

    This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. TRAVEL REQUIRED
    This job requires 25% domestic travel with occasional overnight stays.
    This full-time, exempt position is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA.
