A prominent manufacturing company in the Metro Detroit area is looking for an Applications Engineer to join their team.
The ideal candidate will possess strong technical and presentation skills, with proficiency in mechanical and control prints, proposal development, and customer relationship management.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain strong business relationships with key customers, improving reputation and fostering trust.
Utilize customer-provided standards, specifications, and line-up information to develop competitive proposals.
Assess the technical specifications and manufacturing feasibility of customer requested processes/applications.
Propose equipment and processes to meet customer requirements, providing cost proposals with input from various departments.
Collaborate with the internal project team on commercial needs or support post-project kick-off.
Prepare responses to RFQs and RFIs, ensuring the best technical and commercial solutions are utilized.
Attend sales and marketing meetings, as well as internal training sessions, as required.
Requirements:
Strong technical and presentational skills, with effective interpersonal abilities.
Proficiency in English and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology, with 5 years of relevant experience, or 10 years of relevant industry experience.
Approximately 20% travel required.
