    Position Summary
    The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate movement-based activity and restorative therapy to LifeCircles participants to preserve mobility and functional independence. This position is responsible for assisting the overall therapy department at LifeCircles. This includes provision of services at the center and in the community.
    • Collaborate with therapy team for restorative therapy programming, with participants individually and in groups.
    • Follows individual plan of care as provided by PT or OT.
    • Assist with ambulation, transfers, and range of motion needs of participants as determined by and under the direction of PT and/or OT.
    • Integrate with recreational therapy programming to facilitate movement based activity in the day center.
    • Participate in development of movement challenges, education, and activities.
    • Provide services to participants in the day center and community, including homes and facilities.
    • Prioritize participant wellbeing in daily work.
    • Assist with daily tasks of the therapy department, including DME management.
    • Uses appropriate safety measures when providing care and performing other job duties.
    • Complete documentation in accordance with organizational standards
    • Supports participant autonomy and dignity by communicating in a respectful and sensitive manner according to their needs.

    Required Qualifications

    Preferred OTA, PTA, CNA, Rehab Tech, Restorative Aide, CNA experience.

    One year of experience working with the frail elderly.

    Must have reliable transportation and a current valid Michigan driver's license.

    Must possess current CPR certification by AHA or be willing and able to obtain as offered by LifeCircles.

    Strong desire to work in a team based model of care

    Excellent communication skills

    Organized and have excellent time management skills

    Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and electronic medical records

    Strong sense of professionalism, good critical thinking, creativity, flexibility, and excellent problem-solving skills

    High ethical standards

    Comfortable in self-directed daily work
