    Description

    SUMMARY:
    Operate multiple machines and job areas in an automated production environment. Produce and inspect product in accordance with specifications and instructions. Identify and correct production and quality issues. Ensure all equipment is working within acceptable parameters. A cross function of duties include maintenance, set-up, shipping/receiving, training, and specific projects. Abide by all safety regulations and ensure a safe working environment.


    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Manually cycle machine through operation sequences to check positions, tooling, clearances, etc.
    • Produce components at optimum rates of efficiency and assist in the continuous improvement programs by updating and improving methods to ensure cost effective production.
    • Maintain tooling and perform preventative maintenance tasks on equipment.
    • Knowledge of principles of machining.
    • Adjust machines to correct deviations from specifications in line with provided operating procedures and instructions.
    • Recognize, report and correct potential safety, quality or equipment issues.
    • Perform basic routine and preventive maintenance tasks.
    • Maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
    • Perform other reasonable duties as assigned related to the company's business objectives.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • High School diploma or GED.
    • Accurate use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
    • Work from part drawings and specifications.
    • Use a variety of precision measuring instruments. Ability to perform tasks of a detailed nature having close tolerance and finish requirements. Understand the use and purpose of Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods and techniques.
    • General knowledge of machine shop practices and techniques, with additional training on numerically controlled machine tools and operations. Good mechanical aptitude needed to operate, adjust, and troubleshoot various combinations and sequences of machining operations.
    • Good communication skills and leadership abilities to effectively train and work with others. Ability to organize work priorities and materials, while paying close attention to details.
    • Strong team skills are essential.
    • One year CNC Machining or equivalent experience.
    • Ability to work without supervision in small groups and organize work priorities and material while paying close attention to detail.
    • Must be able to work and travel independently.
    • Must be fluent in English.
    • Must be able to sit, stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel and climb for performing machine set-ups, mechanical and maintenance adjustments, repairs and assemblies. Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. occasionally. Ability to stand for long periods of time. Good vision and depth perception to detect part defects such as cracks, porosity, chips, etc
