    Description:

    CIFC's Early Learning Programs / Head Start, in Norwalk, CT, is currently seeking a Family Advocate to join our team. As a Family Advocate, you will be responsible for providing support, resources, and advocacy to families participating in our Head Start program. The ideal candidate will have experience working with families and children, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

    Responsibilities:

    Family Advocates build relationships with families and connect them to resources and services in the community

    Family Advocates provide support and advocacy for families in accessing services and addressing needs

    Family Advocates assist families in setting and achieving goals related to education, employment, and family well-being

    Family Advocates collaborate with Head Start staff to ensure the provision of quality services to families

    Family Advocates maintain accurate and up-to-date records of family contacts, services provided, and child healthcare records

    Family Advocates participate in program planning and recruitment activities

    Requirements:

    Certificate or degree in social work, human services, or related field

    Experience working with low-income families and children

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Ability to work independently and as part of a team

    Knowledge of community resources and services

    Bilingual skills preferred

    Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
