Job Description
As a Security Officer Flex Armed Patrol in Silver Spring, MD, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more.
As a Flex Part-Time Security Officer, you can build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform.

As an Armed Patrol Officer at a financial institution location, you will conduct routine patrols, stay highly visible, and respond to security-related concerns to help reduce incidents. You will monitor activity, document observations, and communicate clearly with staff, visitors, and local responders as needed. At Allied Universal, you will bring integrity and teamwork to every shift while supporting a caring, agile, and reliable culture.

What You'll Do
Provide customer service to clients and visitors while following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a financial institution location.
Carry and maintain assigned firearm and related equipment in accordance with licensing requirements, post orders, and company guidelines, and use sound judgment when responding to potential threats.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including alarms, suspicious activity, and duress situations, and coordinate with law enforcement and/or emergency services as directed.
Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify hazards or irregular conditions.
Monitor access points and security-related systems such as cameras, intrusion alarms, and key control, and complete detailed reports and documentation for shift activity, incidents, and policy violations.
Minimum RequirementsBe at least 21 years of age.
Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
Having an armed guard card and/or license is preferred.
Having CPR and/or First Aid certification is preferred.
Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
