- Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the National Program Support Section, ensuring that all of the national programs/areas managed comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
- Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and National Operations Center annual work plan (AWP) objectives.
- Establishes policies and procedures for national programs.
- Plans and schedules work in a manner that promotes a smooth flow and even distribution.
- Reviews organization mission, functions, and staffing. Identifies requirements and initiates requests for additional resources including personnel, overtime, equipment, supplies, and space to ensure success in meeting goals and objectives.
- Assesses and revises policies and procedures as needed to find ways to improve quality, timeliness, and efficiency of work.
- Advises staff regarding policies, procedures, and directives of higher-level management and headquarters.
- Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths and weaknesses.
- Identifies employee developmental needs and provides or arranges for training (formal and on-the- job) to maintain and improve job performance.
