Crew Leader - Long Beach, CA - Envent Corporation
Description
Crew Leader
A crew leader works semi autonomously or under direct supervision and must be able to execute given work assignments. The crew leader is responsible for meeting or exceeding all company policies and procedures, state and federal laws and regulations, and must have an unwavering commitment to environmental, safety and health for all employees and clients. In addition, the crew leader must be able to work with other employees and our customers and have a good understanding of the assigned project.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include The Following
1. Report to the assigned supervisor and provide status report.
2. Take directives and perform assigned duties with little or no supervision.
3. Fill in for supervision and provide customer support when required.
4. Oversee technicians when required.
5. Train technicians using the procedures.
6. Carry out all assigned daily work.
7. Assist in all hands meetings, JSS, SCAN procedures, and all safety communications.
8. Complete all required timesheets, log sheet and customer work permits, as required by the task at hand.
9. Select the proper equipment for the task at hand and be able to explain to others the selection.
10. Know where to find and how to follow all operating procedures and be able to explain to technicians the procedures and why it is necessary.
11. Know where to find and how to follow all environmental permits and regulations.
12. Maintain jobsite and yard housekeeping in clean and orderly manner.
13. Comply with all company policies and procedures.
14. Develop strong customer relationships.
15. Learn the regulatory requirements impacting both Envent and Envent's customer.
16. Learn what equipment to use and why.
17. Follow up with the assigned Supervisor to ensure you are doing the job correctly.
18. Provide shift updates per the shift update procedure
19. Attend all safety meetings.
20. Provide meaningful suggestions and ideas to improve Envent's competitive edge.
21. Report all safety infractions or near misses.
22. Report all accidents and citations immediately to the assigned supervisor.
23. Report any equipment issues to shop manager and supervisor.
24. You have the right to stop any work if you feel unsafe.
25. Be responsive at all times to his or her assigned Supervisor and customer. This requires answering the telephone during off hours, weekends and holidays.
26. Perform his or her assigned tasks to the satisfaction of his or her assigned Supervisor and or customer; Communicate effectively to their assigned Supervisor and or safety representative and the customer.
27. Learn all aspects of the technician job description and must have mastered all of those responsibilities.
28. Understand all procedures and instructions and will always ask questions if unsure of what to do.
29. The position will require travel and being away overnight up to 20% to 70% percent of the time depending on job needs and geographic locations. You will be required to travel by vehicle or airline to meet and work with customers.
30. Required to learn Envent electronic platforms for logging, clocking in/out, expense reporting, DOT Electronic Logging Device, and become proficient in all.
31. Be able to communicate through email effectively and check email daily.
32. Respond to all jobs and locations as directed by the Dispatcher or your supervisor.
Education And/Or Experience
The crew leader position requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Industry experience will be considered in lieu of formal education. This position requires the ability to be a self-starter, be able to work autonomously or with little direction, understand basic math skills, read and interpret technical documents, read and understand procedures, perform all assigned duties and follow all safety procedures and requirements.

2. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that meets the needs of a 24/7 operation.
3. Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and walking/traveling to multiple locations throughout the day.

12. Must be proficient in the care and use of all site specific, facility and customer required Personal Protection Equipment (PPE). The candidate must be able to pass all site specific facility, company and industry tests.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
The crew leader must have a current valid driver license from state of residency and valid proof of insurance. The candidate must be insurable by the Envent Corporation insurance provider. The candidate must have a valid TWIC card, RSO or comparable refinery area training card. The candidate must be able to pass the company's employee physical and comply with the company's drug testing policy.
Physical Demands

This job will require a mixture of office work and field work. While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is regularly required to stand and walk in an office setting and/or on a field site and communicate on a telephone while meeting with others. The Associate frequently is required to sit at a desk, use fingers to operate a computer keyboard, reach for papers or books with hands and arms, climb a ladder or balance on a roof, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to operate or view equipment. The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
Work environment is primarily field work. The crew leader will be exposed to various outdoor weather conditions. He or she will be in industrial plants which will expose them to potentially hazardous situations. He or she must have all necessary PPE and be prepared to use it as the situation dictates. The crew leader can be subjected to extreme heights and moving mechanical parts. While performing the duties of this job, the Associate may work in outside weather conditions and is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals common to an active site appropriate PPE is provided and required. He or she will be in industrial plants which will expose him/her to potentially hazardous situations.
