    Description

    Heavy Civil Project Manager

    The Project Manager will be responsible for a broad range of activities, including project planning, cost management, time management, quality management, contract administration, and safety management. You will prepare project status reports and work closely with Project Owners, Vendors, Subcontractors, Project Estimators, and Accounting, so strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.

    The Project Manager will manage construction projects that include but are not limited to the following scopes of work; Excavation, Underground Wet Utilities, Storm/water mains, Prep for Asphalt and Concrete, Roadway Construction, etc.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Ensuring compliance with field safety regulations by all field personnel
    • Overseeing all phases of the construction project timeline
    • Playing a key role in project planning, budgeting, and resource identification
    • Managing financial aspects of contracts, including fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, and maintaining good relationships with clients
    • Handling all correspondence between Contractors and Sub-Contractors
    • Performing site visits and monitoring progress of construction activities on a regular basis, holding regular status meetings with all sub-teams
    • Ensuring that construction activities move according to predetermined schedules
    • Drafting and submitting budget proposals and recommending subsequent budget revisions when necessary
    • Negotiating with other departments for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company, if required
    • Developing and delivering progress reports, proposals, required documentation, and presentations
    • Proactively managing changes in project scope, identifying potential crises, and devising contingency plans in collaboration with assigned Superintendent
    • Responding to RFIs and processing contract change order
    • Approving all invoices and managing the billing process
    • Ensuring compliance with contract specifications
    • Attending project meetings, client meetings, etc.
    • Upholding all safety policies and standards proactively

    Qualifications:

    • At least 2 years of experience with a heavy/heavy civil general contractor in a Project Manager Role
    • Preferred 5 years total of civil construction experience minimum
    • Advanced knowledge of construction practices and procedures.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills
    • Ability to lead from a high-level
