SCOPE OF POSITION
The Surgical Technician - Core Scrub functions in the OR within Ballad Health.
The Surgical Tech III core scrub is flexible in duties and willing to work as an integral part of the surgical team.
He/she must be willing to cross train to other specialties within the Operating Room. Must have an awareness of cost and equipment management. This position will demonstrate competency in the care of patients of all age groups.A.
The Surgical technician III core tech is the functioning lead person from a skill set standpoint for their assigned specialty.
B. Updates preference cards as necessary to ensure available supplies, equipment and communication of Surgeon and staff related to procedures.C.
Ensures all need supplies are available for scheduled procedures the day of the procedure by checking cases to ensure accuracy of supplies needed.
D. Functions as the primary trainer for their specialty.E. Supports management in supply negation efforts as necessary
F. Works within the department and with Surgeons to reduce supply expenses related to their specialty service.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE
Graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program or LPN program.
This position requires clinical experience as a Surgical Technician and must be able to function in all surgical specialties as surgical technologist.
Must meet qualifications of Surgical Tech I and II.Valid and active surgical tech certification or LPN licensure in appropriate state
