- D.V.M. or equivalent degree in Veterinary Science, Biomedical or Life Sciences, Animal or Dairy Science, or related field is required by the start date.

- Specific teaching experience in additional courses specific to the veterinary curriculum for the first 2 years which would include physiology, clinical skills, professional development, critical scientific reading, immunology, preventative medicine, basic pathology, agents of disease, clinical correlations, non-traditional pets, veterinary genetics and genomics, pharmacology, systemic pathology, clinical epidemiology, public health, small animal medicine, surgery; large animal medicine, surgery; diagnostic laboratory, veterinary imaging, avian core or dermatology
- Research experience in the One Health field, basic or clinical veterinary sciences, or production animal agriculture, or related area.
- Ability to work in a clinical setting with understanding of US veterinary college requirements, along with medicine and surgical skills needed for large animal (production animal) veterinary clinical practices in North America.

The Veterinary and Biomedical Sciences Department (VBSD) in the College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences (CAFES) at South Dakota State University (SDSU) invites applications to apply for a 9-month, 100% time, benefit eligible, clinical, non-tenure-track position in the Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine (PPVM).
The PPVM encompasses the first two years of a veterinary curriculum whereby each year a cohort of 20 students will begin the professional curriculum and complete the first two years of Veterinary School at SDSU and finish their final two years of the DVM degree requirements at the University of Minnesota, College of Veterinary Medicine.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary responsibility is to teach percent lectures and laboratories within the Professional DVM degree program, large animal clinical veterinary medicine in the areas of surgery, preventative medicine, imaging, rural veterinary practice and clinical skills, and case based teaching, and coordinates the course content to achieve the same learning objectives and outcomes as the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine's first two years' curriculum.
This position could also contribute to the research and scholarly mission of the university by providing oversight, advising and mentorship to veterinary students that will be completing their MS Degree at SDSU.

The salary for this position is commensurate with qualifications.
