Under the direction of the Chief of Mental Health, the Senior Psychiatrist, Supervisor is responsible for the evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of inmates is the Correctional Treatment Center (CTC) and Mental Health Crisis Bed (MHCB). This includes intervention, weekly individual or group therapy, treatment and discharge planning, participating in interdisciplinary team evaluations, and consultation with the psychiatrists, nursing, and other staff.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.
