    Job title: Aftercare Assistant

    Description

    About the Role

    As an Aftercare Assistant, you will work under the direct supervision of a certified staff member to assist students in the classroom. Your primary responsibilities will include:

    • Supporting Students' Academic Growth: Assist and guide students to reinforce reading, language arts, mathematics, computer instruction, and other skills.
    • Fostering Small Group Learning: Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce basic learning and implement assigned programs.
    • Assisting Classroom Exercises: Assist professional staff in the administration and correction of classroom exercises, tests, and assessments.

    Additional Responsibilities

    You will also be responsible for assisting students with physical or mental disabilities with activities of daily living. In addition, you may be required to perform tasks such as:

    • Providing Administrative Support: Assist guidance, pupil services staff, or building administration as needed.
    • Ongoing Development: Perform any other related duties as assigned.

    About You

    To be successful in this role, you will need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to establish a supportive and compassionate relationship with students with special needs. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality of information regarding students, employees, and others.
