    Job Description:

    The Senior Category Manager is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for leading, defining, and executing complex sourcing programs for key spend categories.

    The incumbent will drive cost savings and support strategic objectives across business units, the supply chain, and the enterprise.

    Collaboration with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and supply chain teams is essential to deliver value-added outcomes while ensuring quality and schedule compliance.


    Key Responsibilities:
    Strategic Sourcing:

    Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve maximum cost savings and support strategic objectives

    Category Expertise:
    Act as the subject matter expert for assigned categories, monitoring market drivers, supplier base, and emerging technologies to inform sourcing decisions

    Spend and Market Analysis:
    Conduct comprehensive market and financial analysis to understand market forces, mitigate risks, and prioritize strategic sourcing initiatives

    Specification Management:
    Lead the process from specification definition to contract administration, ensuring adherence to standards and optimizing investment recovery

    Sourcing Strategies:
    Synthesize spend and market analyses to develop effective sourcing strategies, determining the most strategic supply chain model for maximum savings

    Competitive Process:
    Foster competition to drive improved performance and reduced costs, following prescribed methodologies and educating the organization on best practices

    Negotiations:
    Collaborate to develop negotiation strategies and execute complex contracts, ensuring optimal business outcomes and facilitating win-win results

    Supplier Development:
    Identify new sources of supply and potential products/technologies, exhibiting cradle-to-grave ownership for each assigned category

    Continuous Improvement:
    Initiate leading practices within strategic procurement, stay abreast of industry innovations, and continuously improve processes

    Relationship Management:
    Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers/partners, acting as the primary liaison and negotiating longer-term strategic contracts.

    Additional Responsibilities:
    Category plan development and management for large-dollar risk purchases.
    Contract development, management, and administration, potentially including Construction Specifications Institute standards.
    Planning and forecasting for category spend and market trends.
    Continuous improvement and productivity initiatives.
    Relationship management with internal and external stakeholders.

    Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).Minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement role.

    Expertise in market analysis, negotiation, and contract management.
    Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data-driven decision-making.
    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions and levels of the organization.
    Certification in procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
