    Overview:


    The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for supporting the administration and operational management of network and system infrastructure within both on-premise and AWS cloud environments.

    This role ensures efficient and secure IT operations that support the organization's strategic objectives.

    Responsibilities:


    Support the management of various hardware platforms, software solutions, and virtualized environments, including Windows Operating Systems, Linux (Redhat and Ubuntu), and VMWare.

    Task Area 2 – Infrastructure and

    Cloud Engineering Support:
    Assist in maintaining and enhancing the infrastructure that supports both the on-premise data center and cloud-based operations.
    Subtask 4.2.

    8 – Network Security and Patch Management:
    Assist in managing the routine patching of servers and systems to maintain up-to-date security patches and standards. Also, support the maintenance of Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware across all hosts and manage whitelist/blacklist solutions for application protection.

    Collaborate with senior network systems engineers and IT security teams to ensure infrastructure security measures are aligned with organizational security policies.

    Contribute to improvement projects, maintenance documentation, and operational security activities.
    Subtask 4.2.

    7 – Helpdesk Support:


    Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support to the Helpdesk as needed, ensuring rapid and effective resolution of more complex technical issues that escalate beyond Tier 1 support.

    Qualifications:
    Must possess an undergraduate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    A minimum of 3 years of experience in network systems engineering, with experience in both on-premise and cloud environments.
    Junior cybersecurity certification (Security+ or similar) required.
    AWS Cloud Practitioner or similar cloud certification preferred.
    Must possess or be able to obtain a Tier 2 Public Trust clearance.

    Tools and Technologies:
    Experienced in managing Windows, Linux, VMWare, and potentially Nutanix environments.
    Familiar with network management and monitoring tools.

    Work Hours:
    Standard work hours are from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, excluding Federal holidays.
