    SUMMARY: Learn to supervise production operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures as well as demonstrating the ability to motivate and lead a team of production floor employees. Work with Department manager and be flexible with hours including night shift training & supervision. Duration of training: Minimum 90 days; Maximum 180 days

    This will be a Night shift position when completed.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES TOLEARN DURING TRAINING PERIOD
    • Report directly to department head inform of daily activities and indirectly to plant manager.
    • Learn to be responsible for ensuring all employees are present and all positions are covered during shift.
    • Learn to organize employees to be the most productive as a team including covering absentee issues.
    • Responsible for any mis - punches on time records (PayCom System)
    • Work with Shift supervisor, walk production floor often and check with employees to address any problems found from prior shift and throughout the day.
    • Check penalty area for any rejected buggies from shift and have the buggies sorted.
    • Check with employees daily for any problems or concerns
    • Check with Head fixer to see if any machines are down and decide what actions if any, need to be taken.
    • Responsible for expediting any "Hot" styles needed to Tunnel room on daily basis.
    • Keep accurate attendance records.
    • Responsible for all maintenance forms & paperwork regarding any changes needed for employees.
    • Responsible for Commendations being made for employees with outstanding job performances and any discipline of employees when guidelines are broken, or performance is unsatisfactory.
    • Maintain efficiency and quality levels on each line by directing any improvements needed.
    • Make sure all production & quality papers are filled out and turned in at end of shift.
    • Ensure all payroll issues are resolved within a timely manner.
    • Walk through with oncoming supervisor to check floor prior to shift change.
    • Attend weekly supervisor meeting along with other supervisors
    • Must be able to complete required documents
    • Other duties assigned by management are a part of this job description
    • Adhere to company policies, including attendance and punctuality
    • Communicate with co-workers, management and others in a courteous and professional manner;
    • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions including but not limited to confidentiality requirements

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Learn to be a team leader and builder and make necessary personal preparation to be example to a shift of employees when training completed, to include good communication skills, being approachable, taking employee concerns to heart and expressing positive enforcement to those who are performing consistently. Learn to encourage and lead employees to becoming part of the team and help them set personal accomplishment goals that reward both them and you as well as the department.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
    • Must have at least high school education, any years of prior supervision or management experience in a production setting, preferably in hosiery, will be preferred candidate
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL, AND ABILITY
    • Computer literate, especially with Microsoft Office, especially word, excel & the use of e-mail.
    • Must be willing to work an average of 13 hours per day for each scheduled 12-hour shift
    • Learn to take initiative in solving issues or situations that arise during shift.
    • Above average attendance is expected.
    • Learn to be a proven team leader and a team member, to work well with other supervisors & managers.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    • Could have to stand or walk for long periods of time.
    • Lifting of materials and product up to 35 pounds, possible.
    • Manual dexterity required for operating machinery and computers.
    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is required to stand and walk several hours per shift. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Ability to move between departments to interact with others. Consistent daily attendance required; occasional off-shift support and limited travel required.
