Job summary
The Radiology Tech is responsible for operating the imaging equipment and producing radiographs according to the standards and practices set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.+
Responsibilities
- Prepares and positions patients for x-rays and selects exposure factors accurately
- Observes patient during procedure and reports abnormal activity; monitors protocols and recommends updates or refinements as warranted
- Follows radiation safety procedures and guidelines
- Establishes a clean, orderly, safe and professional work environment.
- Patient assessment performs actively with healthcare team completes all required documentation related to patient, procedure, exam charges adapts imaging methodology using approved modifications communication with physician as needed reports equipment malfunctions in a timely manner assists in arranging repairs following established process assists with staff development orientation training education follows chain of command communicating reportable situations appropriate personnel timely manner maintains confidentiality management information displays discretion good judgment communication methods adheres approved center policies procedures notifies supervisor deviation approved policy assists orientation new employees center displays ability accept counseling direct supervisor positive manner initiates corrective action becomes familiar Center's Fire Safety Disaster Plan role event each displays cost-effectiveness materials management assumes responsibility timely verification supplies used center.
