Safety Manager- Denver, CO Safety Manager- Denver, CO **Safety Manager DOT****:** * Conducts remedial training for accidents and injuries
Conducts proactive safety related training
Conducts regulatory required training
Conducts driver road tests
Conducts regular safety meetings
Provides driver commentary driving training such as ride alongs and on-road observations
Responds to accidents and incidents; managing the situation as well as collecting all required information.
Ensures drivers are performing pre- and post-trip inspections, and are in compliance with Corporate Safety Belt and Cell Phone use policies.
Ensures that all drivers and helpers are fit for duty, meet uniform and equipment standards and are in possession of proper licensing and certifications.
Monitor driver/technician adherence to company policies and protocols.
Provides feedback to safety and operations departments on items that affect safety and performance.
Identifies potential safety hazards and provides feedback to be incorporated into daily operations procedures.
Identify training needs and conduct proactive safety related training
Assists in determination of preventability of accidents and incidents and makes recommendations for future training based on individual events or on system trends.
Accurately documents all field observations and ensures file maintenance
Collaborate with Customer in resolving any safety issues that occur at the Customers stores/facilities
Works as a resource for Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) regulations
Other duties assigned by Management
**Requirements****:** * Bachelors degree or equivalent management experience required.
Class A CDL ****Mandatory**** with 3 years minimum driving experience.
Previous training and/or field supervision experience of at least 3 years required.
Excellent driving and prior supervisory record required.
Working knowledge of D.O.T. FMCSR State and Federal regulations and corporate safety programs and policies
Ability to communicate effectively, courteous and professional manner.
Ability to work independently and objectively.
Ability to handle challenging situations
Must possess a current DOT Medical Examiners Certificate
Professional, positive interpersonal skills required.
Demonstrated aptitude in teams, team facilitation, and individual/team training environments required.
Ability to interact well with employees at all levels of the organization required.
Strong personal motivation toward personal learning and developing talents in others required.
Flexible schedule that requires some evening and weekend work required.Must be able to change schedule in order to see all drivers/mechanics
Experience in providing group presentations preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Experience with a union environment preferred
Strong analytical and organizational skills preferred.
