Primary Purpose:
This is a very new and unique position that ARUP has developed to serve our employee community and their families.
As a critical member of the interprofessional health and Wellness team, the Mental Health Clinician plays a critical role in improving the culture of wellbeing at ARUP and leading in the evolving integration of behavioral health into primary care.

Essential Functions:
Contributing member/specialist of the patient-centered primary care team, especially as related to recognizing and managing clients' biopsychosocial wellbeing needs.
Triages scheduled and immediate referrals from the care teams, and makes recommendations for the timing, intensity, and modality of subsequent care.
Provides and/or oversees a range of psychosocial evaluation/assessment, diagnostic, brief-intervention, counseling, and case management services for individuals of all ages.
Provides timely feedback about the client's care, treatment recommendations, and progress via documentation in the electronic health record and verbal feedback.
Maintains an active, synchronous presence on care teams: daily huddles, warm hand-offs during hours of operation, formal referrals, informal consultations, multidisciplinary care team meetings, staff meetings.
Provides consultation and training to the primary care providers to enhance their skill and effectiveness in the treatment of mental health problems.
Provides clinical supervision to graduate level trainees in the form of one-on-one supervision, group supervision and/or provision of training workshops and seminars.
Ancillary Functions:
Supports the implementation of mental health initiatives, education, resources, and services for the ARUP community in conjunction with the Family Health Clinic, Wellness Center, Employee Assistance Program, the health insurance plan(s), and the community at large.
Collaborates with an interprofessional team, including the Health and Wellness Director, on corporate mental health policies, procedures, initiatives, and benefit design.
Assists ARUP first-line supervisors in supporting the wellbeing of employees and in connecting employees to support/resources.
Participates in ongoing training to maintain all certification standards and credentialing policies.
Other duties as assigned.

Ability to skillfully communicate verbally and in writing. Ensures that all interactions and documentation strictly comply with policies and procedures.
Knowledge of psychological testing methods and interpretation, interviewing and psychological/developmental evaluation skills, and crisis intervention techniques.
Knowledge of differential diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of common mental health disorders.
Knowledge of community mental health resources, clinical operations, and procedures.
Demonstrates high ethical standards. Knowledge of legal and ethical issues related to patients' rights.
Physical and Other Requirements:
General office environment conditions, with moderate noise levels.
Mobility:
Must be physically present at the job site and able to move easily between buildings on campus as well as within the Clinic and Wellness Center setting.
Must be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time.Communication:
Must be able to speak and write clearly and effectively. Must be able to hear and listen for extended periods of time.
Stooping:
Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
Reaching:
Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Must be able to have repetitive wrist, hand and/or finger movement to type and work on computer.
PPE:
May be exposed to potentially dangerous bodily fluids or hazardous chemicals. Environment may require use of personal protective equipment in accordance with CDC and OSHA regulations and company policies.
