The Information Technology (I.T.) Network Administrator performs analysis of network needs and contributes to the design of network architecture, integration, and installation.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Manages all Network Configurations and Performance
Manage network configuration and protocols (TCP/IP, WAN/LAN, VPN, Firewalls, VLANS, QOS, VOIP, Routing, Multicast, Switching, and Spanning-tree)
Configure, monitor, and manage layer 2 networking devices, including switches, WAPs, and bridges
Configure, monitor, and manage layer 3 networking devices and services, including routers, firewalls, and client network connections
Identifies inadequacies and submits recommendations for improvement to the I.T. Senior Network Administrator
Project manage network upgrades and project-related installs
Problem Solving and Technical Skill Development
Resolve unfamiliar or unknown network problems using creative thinking and cooperative effort of the I.T. staff
Coordinates efforts of I.T. staff to resolve network problems or errors
Cooperate and maintain communications with technical support companies
Research developing network technology to improve communication and performance
Continue with education and technical training to acquire
certifications/degrees
Documentation, Disaster Recovery, and Backups
Research areas of enhancement to increase network performance and stability
Responsible for documenting network configurations and update network policies as needed
Responsible for updating and backing up configurations for all network hardware devices
Required to routinely test network architecture and document successful disaster recovery procedures
Oversees and coordinates efforts of staff in the event network disaster recovery procedure(s) are initiated
Continuing Education
Keep up to date with relevant new technologies and I.T. industry practices
Research new Information Technology practices to improve technical operations
Additional Responsibilities
Create detailed tickets pertaining to network problems or projects using ticket tracking system
Take on network-related trouble tickets or other escalated problems
Provide departmental training and support of I.T. staff members as needed
Documentation and Quality Improvement
Review existing Knowledge Base documents and update as required
Create Knowledge Base documents for learned technical solutions
Create Knowledge Base documents for previously undocumented processes and procedures
Review current processes and communicate recommended changes to supervisor
At all times maintain a courteous, positive and professional working relationship with all LDC personnel and the general public (e.g., clients and vendors).

Consistently report to work on time prepared to perform duties of position.
Work odd and unusual hours, including weekends and holidays.

Education & Experience Requirements:
High School diploma or GED Certification
I.T.-related college degree or equivalent experience
Three (3) years' experience in a Network support environment

Licensing & Certification Requirements:
One I.T. network-related certification is preferred (CCNA, Network+, etc.)
Computer Equipment, Software, and Machinery Requirements:
Experience in Cisco environments and network technologies is required.
Proficient in Microsoft environments and applications is required.
Experience in network packet capturing and analysis is required.
Experience in VMware or other virtual environments is required.
Experience in network penetration testing is a plus.
Experience in Cisco Call manager, and Cisco Unity systems is a plus.
Experience in Cisco wireless infrastructure is a plus.
Experience with Fortinet devices is a plus.
Experience in multicast routing is a plus.
Experience in SAN systems is a plus.
Experience in Linux OS is a plus.
Essential Physical Requirements:
The job requires the ability to hear, sit, stand, talk, walk, see, and repetitively use hands 51-100% of the time.
The job requires the ability to carry and lift 1-25 lbs % of the time.
The job requires the ability to push/pull, carry, lift, slide and transfer 1-50+lbs. 25-50% of the time.
Essential Mental Demands:
The job requires the ability to problem solve, organize, plan, make decisions, interpret data, read, write and use of math skills 51-100% of the time.

Training.
Work Environment (inside/outside):
The duties are performed primarily indoor with occasional exposure to hot and cold temperatures, loud noises and confined spaces.
Other Requirements:
Must obtain and maintain a gaming license through the Pueblo of Laguna's Tribal Gaming Regulatory Authority (TGRA) Board and must provide a valid drivers' license.
