About The Role We're looking for a Senior Product Design Manager to lead a dynamic team of talented product designers focused on the Acquisition, Growth & Discovery teams. In this role, you'll oversee strategy and design of features that attract new users, engage existing ones, and aid them in their product and store discovery. You will assume responsibility for the quality of the work, management of processes, and development of the careers and performance of the team. The Senior Product Design Manager will help shape the strategy for multiple squads in partnership with their cross-functional counterparts. You will provide design feedback and guidance to your squads, as well as work across squads to identify larger strategic initiatives. Additionally, you will work together with the Senior Director of Product Design, the Director of Research, and the Head of Design Systems to develop a compelling design vision that aligns member needs with business objectives, as well as foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within the design team. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Craft the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the squads, in close collaboration with your cross-functional leaders, aligning business objectives with member-centered problems.
    • Lead and mentor a team of 3-4 product designers across multiple squads. Dedicate time to mentor and coach them, helping them up level their skills and outputs.
    • Drive design direction and uphold quality: guide the overall design direction, ensuring quality without compromising speed. Understand when it is needed for you to be hands on in the design work and when to step back.
    • Foster healthy relationships across Design, Product, Engineering, and Growth Marketing, maintaining collaboration across teams that work on overlapping experiences.
    • Be involved in the design work from concept to launch, leading regular design critiques and brainstorming sessions.
    • Staffing and Career Development: Ensure proper staffing, provide and gather regular feedback on project progress, team culture, and career growth.
    • Help develop a human centered design culture across the organization, rooted in collaboration and craft excellence.
    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
    • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a design discipline such as Product Design, User Experience, or Interaction Design.
    • Experience: 10+ years of experience in Product Design, including 3+ years of experience in managing design teams.
    • Portfolio: Strong portfolio examples that showcase a broad range of product design work delivered to market, reflecting strong understanding of the user-centered design process, as well as leadership challenges.
    Skills and Abilities:
    • A track record of championing what's best for the users while balancing the needs of the business. Hands-on experience in concepting and visualizing experiences through storyboarding, scenarios, flows, and prototypes at all levels of fidelity.
    • Attention to detail, and a strong eye for strong interaction design and visual design principles. Experience leading design research, including competitive analysis, pattern research, qualitative interviews, and synthesis.
    • Ability to effectively communicate design solutions to all audiences, inclusive of executive leadership & the C-suite
    • Strong project planning, time management, and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to cultivate an understanding of industry trends, and inspire and motivate a design team. Proficient with current design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.)
    Industry Experience:
    • Experience within an e-commerce or two-sided marketplace with a mobile-first mentality is preferred.

Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location.
