Wilcox develops innovative, world-class electro-mechanical combat systems for today's warfighters and law enforcement officers. Electrical engineers are a core component of the development team, serving as the technical authority for hardware development while working to deliver best-in-class products.

Key Responsibilities

Own large-scale hardware projects or complex system designs (multi-board systems, high-density or high-speed designs, advanced SoC integration).
Utilize hardware design standards and processes, ensuring best practices for electromagnetic compatibility, reliability, and manufacturability.
Collaborate with cross-functional leads (Firmware, Mechanical, Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, and Program Management) to define hardware requirements and long-term roadmaps.
Identify and mitigate risks early, making strategic decisions that balance performance, cost, and time-to-market.
Provide guidance and advanced troubleshooting for electromagnetic interference challenges; lead pre-compliance and compliance testing efforts.
Conduct high-level electromagnetic and circuit simulations to validate design architecture decisions early.
Skilled at designing safety in mind (design for manufacturing analysis) with circuits that mitigate single-point failures & line replaceable units.
Lead design reviews, and utilize printed circuit board layout & electromagnetic compatibility best practices, testing methodologies, and documentation quality.

Documentation and Communication

Align hardware tasks with product requirements, collaborating with Firmware, Software, QA, Systems Engineering, and Program Management teams.
Conduct thorough design reviews, emphasizing best practices for robust design.

Qualifications and Requirements

Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
7+ years of experience in an electrical engineering role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills/Abilities

Expert in embedded design utilizing highly efficient components for battery-powered devices.
Expert at schematic capture & layout software.
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Microsoft 365, Teams).
Proficient using board management and defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, GIT).
U.S citizenship is required for this position.

Preferred Skills/Abilities

Experience with military standards, specifically MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810.
Experience with laser systems, night vision/imaging systems, or target location systems.
Master's Degree.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear; use hands and fingers to handle and touch objects, tools, or controls to work in a production environment. Vision abilities required including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus to work. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift 25 pounds at times.
Ability to perform physical tests and handle tools/equipment used for prototyping.
