This role also acts as backup to our Compliance

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Verify driver qualifications, licensing, insurance coverage, and equipment documentation.
  • Confirm adherence to DSV Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) including seal management, load securement, and chain-of-custody protocols.
  • Analyze audit observations and supporting documentation, interpret DSV policies and standards, and apply professional judgment to determine carrier compliance status beyond checklist criteria.
  • Determine whether carriers meet DSV operational and security risk tolerances and provide approval, conditional approval, or disqualification recommendations that directly impact whether DSV may utilize the carrier for freight movements.

Risk Identification & Compliance Monitoring

  • Identify operational, safety, and security risks including fraud indicators, subcontracting practices, and potential double brokering.
  • Validate compliance with zero-tolerance standards and escalate discrepancies immediately.
  • Document audit findings, supporting evidence, photographs, and interview notes in accordance with documentation retention standards.
  • Evaluate the severity of compliance failures, determine appropriate corrective action requirements, and establish remediation expectations necessary for continued carrier eligibility.
  • Monitor carriers for remediation compliance and participate in annual and periodic carrier recertifications.

Incident Readiness & Response

  • Evaluate carrier knowledge of emergency response protocols including cargo deviations, theft response, and law-enforcement engagement.
  • Verify secure stop procedures, route adherence, and seal verification processes.

  • Exercise independent judgment in identifying material risk conditions and recommend carrier suspension, restriction, or removal from the approved carrier network.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to Carrier Services, Security, and leadership.

Program Collaboration & Reporting

  • Collaborate with Carrier Services and Operations to communicate audit outcomes and operational expectations.
  • Provide training or guidance to carriers regarding DSV security and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate audit schedules and reporting metrics.

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation, logistics operations, safety, compliance, investigations, or carrier management.
