    Description:

    The Department of Pharmacology at Tulane University School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a postdoctoral position focused on brain vasculature and mitochondria. Our research focuses on aging and Alzheimer's disease, so we require applicants with a background in cerebrovascular sciences. The applicant will work independently and as part of a team with faculty, postdoctoral fellows, and students at different levels.

    We are looking for an applicant who has proven expertise in rodent surgical techniques, including surgeries, handling, and monitoring of rodents, as well as two-photon imaging. The applicant should be familiar with various approaches, including fluorescent microscopy, working with isolated vessels, immunofluorescence, western blot, and PCR. These should be demonstrated through the applicant's peer-reviewed publications. The Post-Doctoral Fellow should be able to supervise and train students in lab techniques and experiments, assist with teaching Medical Pharmacology Problem Based Learning, and help with lab maintenance and ordering of supplies. The applicant should be able to collect and analyze data, compose manuscripts for publication, and prepare presentations.

    We prefer applicants with proven research experience in cerebrovascular sciences.


    Qualifications:

    1. Ph.D., M.D., M.D./Ph.D., or equivalent degree with a strong background in cardiovascular biology.
