    Job Title:
    Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift FlexReports to: Maintenance Manager

    Job Summary:
    The maintenance technician is a skilled multi-craft professional responsible for the inspection, maintenance, and repair of all machinery to minimize downtown while ensuring a safe and well-functioning machine to support the operations of this facility effectively

    Essential Duties:


    Practice safe work habits at all timesMaintaining good housekeepingRead, diagnose, and repair machineryPerform preventive maintenanceTroubleshoot machinery and equipmentFollow work orders to ensure repairs and work are performed properly and on timeComplete all paperwork neatly, correctly, and following company guidelinesWillingly work all necessary hours and shiftsComply with all company policies and proceduresAdditional duties as assigned by managementProvide the tools required to perform maintenance tasksSkills and Abilities:Communication with co-workers and others to carry out job dutiesUse all aspects of the maintenance software programRead electrical schematics and other documents to assist in diagnosing and repairing machinery and equipmentExperience with electrical instrumentationEquipment design and capabilities that can translate into efficient operationA/C and D/C drives and their control systems useAdvanced equipment troubleshooting skillsKnowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical, cutting, tool sharpening, machine setup, blueprint reading, electrical schematic reading, basic carpentry, HVAC electrical repairs, machine repair, and tooling selection preferredComputer skills and math skills sufficient to perform department-related tasks are requiredMathematical skills:Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.

    Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume, and rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.


    Reasoning Ability:
    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.


    Experience:
    Repair experience in a high-volume production environment. Preferred candidates will have prior work experience in the corrugated industry.


    Education:


    High school diploma or equivalentCertificates, Licenses, Registrations:You may be required to maintain a current lift truck operator license and/or other appropriate certification to work in certain areas or on certain equipment.


    All candidates are required to pass The Ramsay Mechanical Aptitude Test (Ramsay MAT-4) prior to employment

    Work Environment:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.


    Physical Demands:
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, and talk or hear.

    The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    The employee is occasionally required to sit.

    The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
